Welcoming Ken Knudsen back to HAA!
We are delighted to share joyful news with our school family: Ken Knudsen will be joining Hinsdale Adventist Academy as Interim Principal for the 2025–2026 school year, beginning July 1, 2025.
Mr. Knudsen brings over 30 years of rich experience in education, serving in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, chaplain, guidance counselor, vice principal, principal, and educational superintendent. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching with a strong emphasis on leadership, and is widely respected for his wisdom, faith, and dedication to Christ-centered education.
Throughout his career, Mr. Knudsen has consistently nurtured academic excellence, spiritual growth, and institutional vitality. Most recently, he has served as Vice Principal at Spring Valley Academy in Centerville, Ohio, where his visionary leadership has made a lasting impact on students, staff, and families alike.
In addition to his work at Spring Valley, Mr. Knudsen is also an Executive Leadership Coach with ACE Academy and was honored with the 2024 Outstanding Administrator Award—recognition of his exceptional service and commitment to educational excellence.
Mr. Knudsen is married to Dr. Lisa Knudsen, Director of Clinical Quality at Kettering Health’s Washington Township and Miamisburg Hospitals. They have one adult child and three cherished cats. While Mr. Knudsen will be serving in Hinsdale during the school year, his family will remain in the Dayton, Ohio area.
Hinsdale holds a special place in Ken Knudsen’s heart. Though raised in Wisconsin, his ties to our community run deep—his parents met in Hinsdale, where his mother was a nursing student and his father worked at the hospital. As a young man, he spent several summers working at the Hinsdale Church summer camp, in Central Services, and on the hospital grounds.
