HAA Selects New Principal

The Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has hired Janette Rodriguez as the next principal of Hinsdale Adventist Academy.

After an extensive search process, HAA’s School Board has recommended Janette Rodriguez to the Conference through Dr. Luis Ortiz, Illinois Conference’s new Superintendent of Education. Dr. Ortiz announced the hire in a letter to the HAA Board and constituents:

“Mrs. Rodriguez brings a valuable combination of instructional leadership, strategic planning, curriculum design, faculty development, and experience guiding schools through periods of transition. . . . Even more importantly, Mrs. Rodriguez approaches education as a ministry.”

Mrs. Rodriguez has deep ties to the Chicagoland area, where she has worked most recently at Calvary Christian School as founder/director of the STEAM program. She is bilingual, having studied at Montemorelos University, Andrews University, and holds a leadership certificate from Harvard University.

“It is a privilege to accept God's calling to serve as Hinsdale Adventist Academy's new principal with a vision that education is discipleship.” Mrs. Rodriguez said. She continued:

“At HAA, faith and academic excellence walk together. Excellence is itself a form of witness. Together with our teacher, families, and churches, we will build a school where every student is known, safe, and loved; where strong academics stand on a clearly defined biblical foundation; and where each child is invited, every day, into a growing relationship with Jesus. I am honored to begin this journey with the HAA family.”
