For a quarter of a century, Camp Akita has been a place of spiritual growth, transformation, and unforgettable memories. We invite you to join us for Homecoming 2025, a special event commemorating 25 years of ministry at Camp Akita from June 5-8.
WORTH THE WAIT
Homecoming’s theme is “Worth the Wait,” which is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness throughout the years. You will hear from current and past campers and staff who have had their lives changed at Camp Akita and made life-long memories and friends. You will also have an opportunity to take advantage of Akita’s activities, such as horseback riding, the climbing tower, tubing, disc golf, a doubles volleyball tournament, a special rodeo showcase, a fishing tournament, a golf tournament, and our Silver Jubilee Fundraiser Banquet.
CREDIT, PINS, & MORE
All attendees will have an opportunity to support the camp by buying some unique merchandise with our special anniversary logo (see above). Every child registered for camp this summer plus Homecoming 2025 will receive $50 in store credit. Pathfinders will receive a special “Camp Akita 25” pin. Illinois Conference members who attend will also receive a discount for their next church retreat.
THE NEXT 25 YEARS...
Conference and camp leaders will also present a 5-10 year plan for the Camp which recognizes the incredible importance of camp ministry for our mission to advance the gospel with emerging generations.
WORSHIP TOGETHER
Sabbath morning promises to be a special worship experience in the Pathfinder Pavilion. You will hear from Elder Ken Denslow (former ILC and Lake Union President), Ron Whitehead (Lake Union Youth Director), as well as testimonies from past and present campers and staff.
