Illinois Conference Provides Update on Office Building Move

Matthew J. Lucio

Assistant to the President for Communication

The Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is continuing its plans to relocate its conference office as part of a long-term effort to find a headquarters better suited to the Conference’s current and future ministry needs.

At a specially called constituency meeting on March 29, 2026, delegates authorized conference leadership to pursue the sale of the current Willowbrook property. That action followed years of evaluation, discussion, and consideration regarding the best use of conference resources and facilities.

Following the delegates’ authorization, the Illinois Conference entered into a purchase agreement with a prospective buyer. Although that buyer later withdrew, another interested party has since emerged, and the Conference is now in active negotiations.

Throughout this process, Conference administration has worked with experienced commercial real estate professionals to help ensure the property is represented appropriately in the market. In addition, the Conference authorized a thorough appraisal of the building as part of its commitment to pursue fair value for the property and make informed decisions on behalf of its members.

No final sale has been completed at this time. Further updates will be shared with our members as more information becomes available.
