Come to International Children’s Care (ICC) Orphan Sabbath. In honor of children cared for through ICC’s orphan sponsorship program, an ICC Orphan Sabbath will be held on November 9 at Downers Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church and Andrews University. In addition to ICC updates, you will enjoy a powerful message by child advocate William Hurtado and receive a Care Kit for grass-roots activism where you can share how over 400 children are daily cared for. World Orphan Day is Monday, November 11. This event honors donors who support children. Bring family and friends!


Chef Mark Anthony is coming to the North Aurora SDA Church on Monday, November 11th at 6:00 pm for a FREE Dinner and a Message. Mark Anthony has appeared on NBC, ABC, ESPN, 3ABN and regularly on Smart Lifestyle Worldwide television. His travels have taken him all over the world and to every state in this country. Learn how to lose weight, lower your cholesterol and increase your energy. Church Volleyball Tournament — Join us as we put the FUN in fundraiser! The North Aurora SDA School will host the event on Saturday, November 16th from 6-8:30 pm. Location is 950 Mooseheart Rd., North Aurora, IL  60542. Teams should consist of 6-8 members. Activities will be available for children. Cost is $5 per adult or $2.50 per child. Food will also be sold. Please register with Maya Foster at 630-998-3350.  


 

Vegetarian Holiday Cooking Class & Health Seminar  — The 12th Annual Holiday Banquet & Health Seminar, sponsored by the Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church, will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 3:30 pm. Speaker Dr. Manual Alva, board certified in gastroenterology and lifestyle medicine, will discuss "Cultivating the Garden Within," about the intestinal microbiome. Participants will learn how feeding the proper food to your friendly gut bacteria will result in a healthy mind and body. 

The presentation will be followed by demonstrations of plant-based gluten-free and dairy-free dishes. including pot pie, sweet potato and black bean salad, and pumpkin pie. Learn about key ingredients that help promote healthy digestion, feed friendly gut bacteria, and or work like a pre-biotic, such as roots, green leafy vegetables, and quinoa. Each participant will enjoy a complete complimentary meal and receive the recipes. There will be free drawings. MOBILE FOOD PANTRY - Are you in need of food for your family? Or Do you know of a family that could use free food? The Hinsdale SDA Church is having a Mobile Food Pantry twice a month for families that are in need of food.  Fresh produce, Fruit, Eggs, Milk and other items will be given freely to all who RSVP just text 949.254.0133.   


NOVEMBER 15-17, 2019  —  MAFASDA (Midwest Association of Filipino-American Seventh-day Adventists) invites you to its 48th Annual Spiritual Retreat to be held at the The Osthoff Resort, Lake Elkhart, Wisconsin. The theme is "THE POWER OF PRAYER AND FORGIVENESS." The Keynote Speaker is Dr. Phodidas Ndamyumugabe a survivor of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Dr. Ndamyumugabe was one of the 2018 GYC speakers and he's currently a professor at Weimar Institute in California. Registration deadline is October 15, 2019.
