ILLINOIS CONFERENCE OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS

One: President’s Report - Elder Pichette gave an update on the following events taking place in 2016 around our Conference:
  1. Spring Church Planting Spring Rally, May 19, 2016, 4-8Pm at the Joliet Church
  2. Lake Union Youth Congress, in Chicago, February 12-14
  3. There will 99 evangelistic series held this year in the Illinois Conference
 
Two: Membership Report
There were 252 baptisms in 2015. There have been 20 baptisms so far year to date in 2016. Current membership is 13,636.
 
Three: New Mission Group /Redencion
The Executive Committee voted to approve the formation of the new Mission Group, Redencion, under the leadership of Pastor Magdiel Gomez, and from the Fox Valley Hispanic Church. This Mission Group will be in West Aurora.
                       
Four: Financial Report
In 2015, there was a 1.4% increase in tithe. Over the last 10 years, the giving in the Illinois Conference has stayed pretty flat, in the 11 million range. Remember, 39% of the tithe dollar does NOT stay in the Illinois Conference. 16% goes to the General Conference, 9% goes to the Lake Union Conference, 11% goes toward employee retirement, 2% goes to Andrews University, and about 1% to small Conferences.
 
Five: LUC Constituency Session
Delegates to represent the Illinois Conference were chosen to serve at the Lake Union Constituency Session, May 15, 2016.
