Extracts from the December 10, 2014 Executive Committee Meeting
  • This was the first meeting of the new Executive Committee of the Illinois Conference. Below is the list of the members of the committee for your information:
Ray Pichette, President; Ron Aguilera, Secretary, Mike Daum, Treasurer, Helen Bacchus, Gilberto Bahena, Marci Baker, Dustan Daniel, Nancy Dedic, Arlene Brown-Dominguez, Roberto Espinoza, Tom Ferguson, Gordon Fraser, Jason Goliath, Brian Hamilton, Don Lewis, Jose Medina, Raysa Ramos, Garry Starkey, Moses Taiwo, Milenko Tanurdzic, Patricia Williams.
  • Part of the vision of the Illinois Conference is to plant new churches. The Executive Committee voted to approve Pastor Frendell Reyes plant a church in either Romeoville or Schaumburg, starting January 1, 2015.
  • The Illinois Conference has a new Lay Pastor Program for the training and development of individuals wanting to serve as Lay Pastors. The Committee voted to invite Terry Shelton to serve as Lay Pastor of the West Frankfort SDA church, and to invite Robert Chestnut to serve as Lay Pastor of the Church of the Advent Hope
  • The following personnel decisions were approved:
…To invite Diana Lamar to continue to serve as the volunteer women’s ministries leader for the Illinois Conference
…To invite Pastor Leonardo Oliveira to serve as the volunteer Young Adult Ministries leader for the Illinois Conference.
…To invite Gabriel Bardan to continue to serve as the church-planting director for the Illinois Conference.
  • The Executive Committee voted to approve Occupancy Agreement request from the Deer Park Church. All Non-SDA use agreements of churches must be approved by the Executive Committee.
  • It was reported that as of October 31, our year-to-date tithe shows a 1.7% increase.There will be an Executive Committee retreat at the end of January. This will be held at the Conference office. It will be an opportunity to look at our mission and vision moving forward.
